Get involved: HIV Stigma in Manitoba Study

Are you living with HIV? The HIV Stigma and Discrimination in Manitoba Study wants to hear from you!

About the Study:
Stigma and discrimination are some of the biggest challenges for people living with HIV. This study seeks to understand the HIV-related stigma people living with HIV experience in Manitoba. We will use the results to develop future projects aimed at addressing HIV stigma and improving the health, well-being and community participation of people living with HIV.

Participant criteria:

  • Must be HIV Positive for at least 6 months
  • Must live within the following Manitoba health regions: Winnipeg, Prairie Mountain or Interlake-Eastern
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

How to get involved:
Participants will be interviewed by a Peer Research Assistant to complete a questionnaire about: stigma and discrimination, disclosure and confidentiality, access to work and services, and more. The interview will take approximately 90 minutes. An honorarium will be provided.
