STBBI Testing During COVID-19

At Nine Circles, we are working to balance access to essential needs, physical distancing recommendations, and safety for all. At this time, we have to modify our testing services to meet the social distancing recommendations. Until further notice we are providing reduced availability for STBBI (sexually transmitted and blood-borne infection) testing and treatment.
What does this mean for clients?
If you think you need testing, please call 204-940-6000 and we will direct you to an STI Testing Nurse, where you can speak directly with them or leave a message for a return call within 1-2 business days.
The STI Nurses will do phone assessments with clients from 9am to 12pm each morning to help assess symptoms and the need to come in forĀ testing and treatment. For folks who need testing or treatment, they will schedule appointments.
Clinic appointments will be scheduled between 1pm and 4pm and will be 15 minutes. Due to the time restrictions, some health services will not be available at this time.
Nine Circles is not a Covid-19 testing site.
Nine Circles reminds clients that as of March 23, 2020, our Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, Dr. Roussin, recommends anyone who returns from travel, including travel within Canada should self-isolate and self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days following their return.
We are encouraging clients to reflect on their sexual health practices and determine if STBBI testing can wait or be delayed to a later time. We recognize this is not ideal for many clients, but acknowledge the importance of physical distancing at this time and our role in helping to minimize transmission of COVID-19.
