The project, which is funded by the Government of Canada’s Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP), aims to meaningfully engage people who use drugs in the design, promotion, implementation and evaluation of low-threshold primary care interventions. Special Project Manager (RN)
Meeting the Moment Project
Full-Time (Term) Position , Nurse V (MNU)
(38.75 hours/week from July, 2020 to March 31, 2023)
$45.270/hr. to $57.225/hr. D.O.Q.

Consistent with the principles of harm reduction philosophy, in accordance with Nine Circles Community Health Centre program standards, the Meeting the Moment Project Coordinator is responsible for:

  • providing overall project coordination to the Meeting the Moment Project
  • creating and sustaining an inter-professional community of practice in Winnipeg as well as subcommittees which include people with lived experience
  • Supporting peer-involved program development/training
  • Piloting and evaluating models for low threshold access of wrap-around care for members of the target population
  • Developing and publishing resources that identify and support best practices for priority population relevant to the local context

Social Worker 
Meeting the Moment Project
Part-Time Term (0.8 EFT) Position
(31 hours/week from June, 2020 to September 30, 2022)
$30.830/hr. to $41.039/hr. D.O.Q.

Consistent with the principles of harm reduction philosophy, in accordance with Nine Circles Community Health Centre program standards, the Social Worker provides short term support, which may include working with a client to meet their basic needs, harm reduction distribution, teaching them to advocate for themselves and advocating for clients where necessary. The social worker is responsible for:

  • Building on existing inter-agency community service networks in Winnipeg, and subcommittees, to strengthen collaboration and integrated care pathways
  • Supporting peer-involved program development/training
  • Piloting and evaluating models for low threshold access to wrap-around care for members of the target population
  • Providing client care in a competent, safe and understanding manner and ensuring an approach to care that encourages client participation, empowerment and respect
