2016-2017 was a busy year at Nine Circles. It was a year where we saw the Manitoba HIV Program expand to include 7th Street Access Centre in Brandon, giving folks in the Prairie Mountain Health region the opportunity to access treatment closer to home. It was a year that Winnipeg hosted CAHR- the Canadian Association of HIV Research’s annual conference. It was a year where we made health equity a priority, and continued to strengthen our interprofessional, collaborative practice and our client-centred care model, putting GIPA (Greater Involvement of Persons Living with HIV/AIDS) principles into action. It was not a year without challenges as HIV organizations from across the country had their federal funding drastically cut or completely discontinued. While Nine Circles was originally part of that group, we were eventually able to secure resources through discussions with PHAC and with the support of many community partners.
Along with being a place where the community can access health care and related services, Nine Circles is always engaged in many projects. Get the full scoop by reviewing our annual report. Contents include:
