Education Beyond the Classroom
Nine Circles offers educational sessions that provide an opportunity to talk about risk, transmission, and prevention with a trained health educator. Our Health Education team provides workshops and training to groups as well as one-on-one sessions.
Community Education Program
Organizations can host a health educator to present on HIV, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Hepatitis C and other blood-borne infections (STBBIs) for groups of 5 to 50. Our Community Education Program offers 90-minute presentations that are:
- Client-centred to increase openness and knowledge around STBBI prevention
- Sex-positive and harm reduction based
- Community-friendly and interactive
We can also tailor a workshop to meet the needs of your community.

Sex, Drugs & Bingo game available for free download
Nine Circles Health Educators created Sex Drugs & Bingo to increase awareness about syphilis and STI testing among adults who are sexually active and/or use drugs. We are happy to share this fully developed tool (including printable instructions, bingo cards and caller cards) with organizations and communities who are looking for engaging ways to boost awareness, knowledge and testing/treatment. This ready-to-go package contains 11 bingo cards with accessible harm reduction messages. If you know how to run a bingo, this kit is all you need to run Sex, Drugs & Bingo – no clinical knowledge or extensive facilitation experience required. Peer workers have successfully hosted this bingo in Winnipeg with people who use drugs, and now we want to give you the opportunity to play this game with your community.
By playing Sex, Drugs & Bingo, players will:
- know more about how syphilis is transmitted
- understand that STI testing is the only way to know if you have syphilis
- know that syphilis is curable with the right medication
- learn ways to reduce syphilis transmission during sex or using injection drugs.

Busting HIV Myths Video
In the summer 2017, Nine Circles shot a video for the show Winnipeg Talks on SHAW TV. The video is an adaptation of our HIV 101 community training. It takes on four common HIV myths and dispels them using simple facts and recent HIV statistics for Manitoba.
