Standing Strong Workshop Series

Boost yourself and your loved ones with knowledge and support through the Standing Strong Workshop Series. Together, we learn and grow stronger!

Join us for Standing Strong, a supportive workshop series designed for individuals living with HIV and their supportive family or friends. This program offers essential information on HIV treatment and prevention, along with engaging group discussions on topics such as HIV disclosure, combating stigma, and accessing support through the Manitoba HIV Program.

Each workshop module is tailored to provide valuable insights and practical tips for navigating life with HIV.

  • Standing Strong: Starting the Conversation
  • Standing Strong: Support Through Thick and Thin

Workshops are offered throughout the year, one at a time. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to strengthen your knowledge and connect with others in the community!

Indigenous Cultural Support Programming

Join cultural support worker Kayleen Kaduchuk (she/her/hers) for Indigenous cultural programming and teachings (all items provided) including weekly:

  • Mending Mondays: Have a bag that needs to be repaired, clothes that need to be patched up, an item that has been worn through? Drop-in for Mending Mondays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and get your item repaired in the Nine Circles Gathering Place with Kayleen Kaduchuk. Limit to one item per person, per day. All ages. Open to community members that access the Pit Stop or Nine Circles clinic clients.
  • Beading Class: Learn to bead Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bring in a project or learn to loom bead, flat stitch, peyote stitch, create jewelry, shirt pins, hair clips, and more! Beginner friendly and all materials and instruction provided. All ages. Open to community members that access the Pit Stop or Nine Circles clinic clients.
  • Sewing Class: Learn to sew Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Bring in a project or learn the basics of sewing, quilting, sewing machines, and appliques. All materials and instruction provided. All ages. Open to community members that access the Pit Stop or Nine Circles clinic clients.
  • Drumming Circle: Connect through rhythm, song, and community on the big drum from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays starting September 5th, 2025. No experience necessary, all ages, and by drop-in.

Social Support Drop-In

Join us the first Tuesday of the month from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. in the Gathering Place for a casual hang out, chat, and make friends! Open to everyone in the community.

Sharing Point Drop-In

Have something you want to get off your chest? Join us the third Tuesday of the month from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. for Sharing Point. Open to women and gender diverse folks that want a safe and casual space for connection, sharing experiences, and receive encouragement and support related to life struggles or circumstances.
